Polemics is a big, bad and scary monster.
Dear Adrianna, Dad, your then three year old sister, Samantha and I welcomed you into the world on April 24, 1997 at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. Your spectacular … Continue reading Adrianna, a.k.a. Ana, My Heart is Attached

In the church that the Lord has given you, you have remained a steadfast shepherd of your flock. Your fidelity to the truth in the Word, your love for the Word and your commitment to following the command to love God with all of your heart and mind and to love others is evident. You recognize that telling people the truth about themselves for their spiritual growth is loving. For these reasons, and for 100 more, I express my gratitude.
Alas, however, on this Father’s Day, I get on my knees in thanks for the constant guidance, prayer and teaching you have devoted to my children, Nate and Samantha. Your wisdom and love, coupled with your beautiful wife, Kathy, has given Brian and me peace in struggle, joy through triumphs and a view of Christ in advance. In great sincerity, I love you! Happy Father’s Day!
When I was a young woman, I heard a well known psychologist on the radio say that when a woman considers marriage she should contemplate whether or not her future husband will be a good dad. That made sense to me and so I did examine your attributes, in that regard.
The decision to marry you because I loved you wasn’t a stand alone reason. You have proven your devotional love for me for over thirty five years with unceasing loyalty. I have been the recipient of care and dedication to my needs and joys. But, the grateful heart lies also and equally in your steadfast commitment to our children.
You have worked tirelessly all of your life to ensure the well being of your family. The pressure has been off of us while you have taken the helm of responsibility for each one of us.
You are the unsung hero when we shine; the behind the scenes contributor of love and support that requests no glory. For all you do for our lives in motion, I wish you the happiest Fathers Day, Dearest Brian.
On earth, there are holes in souls that cannot be fully filled until God and His original design is restored in all our intended glory with Him in Heaven and on the new Heaven on earth. However, fruit is the natural result of relationship now, with God and others. The command, then, to love one another, given to us by Jesus, provides us with the closest to the sublime, attainable at this present time. The rest is mumps and measles. It really is about love.
